16 Hour Tennessee Health, Hygiene, & Sanitation Training

We have been given permission to issue the Tennessee Hair Braider Registration of 16 hours in Health and Hygiene Training. This Certificate is required to be a hair braider in Tennessee.

What can you do with this certificate? 

A person that uses techniques that result in tension on hair strands, such as twisting, wrapping, weaving, extending, locking, or braiding of the hair, by hand or mechanical appliances for compensation, without cutting, coloring, relaxing, removing, chemically treating, or using other preparations to straighten, curl, or alter the structure of the hair.   

The subjects included in this course are:   

5 Hours HIV/AIDS & Other Communicable Diseases, 5 Hours Diseases & Disorders of the Scalp, 2 Hours Tennessee State laws and rules, and 4 Hours Sanitation & Sterilization. No Techniques, Textbooks, or Video Demos are included.

To become a certified hair braider:

1.  Purchase and complete the course.
2. Submit your Hair Braider application, along with $30 fee, and certificate of completion to TN Board.
3. Once approved as a Hair Braider, they will mail your official certification.
